My local Kroger is re-arranging.
I hate it when stores do this. I know it makes sense--they're adding more shelving and that means more stuff--but please.
I spent 5 minutes looking for Crystal Light today. 5 minutes. They had juice boxes in one aisle, coffee in another, gatorade in a third, and regular juice (like Welch's) in a fourth. And bottled water everywhere. I asked for help by asking for Kool-Ade. Nada.
Now it's my most local of the grocery stores, so I will survive this change, but I did want to vent. I'm very disappointed at the moment.

CVS: 14 Sept 2011
Today's CVS Take was excellent!
I started by looking for the Airwick Compact Starter Kits. They're regularly $9.99, but are on sale for $4.99. When you spend $20 on select items, you get $10 back in Rewards. Even better, I had coupons for $4 off each one.
That makes them a moneymaker! I did have to buy a thing of Finish Gelpacks to make the even $20 but, you know, whatever. It was $2.99 and the Airwick paid for it and then some.

Meijer: 3 Sept 2011
Today was a good day to shop at Meijer.
I started by attacking that Proctor & Gamble Rebate. When you spent $30 on P&G products at Meijer, you'd get a $10 rebate gift card.
So, I stocked up. When you bought a Venus Breeze razor with a 4-6 pack of refills, you got $5 off. So $9.49 + $14.57 - $5 = 19.06. Yay. Almost there. But wait--I had coupons for $2 off the refills AND $2 off the razor. So while it counted as $19.06, it was really $15.06.
Then there was Gilette deodorant. I had a coupon for free body wash with the deodorant. So $3.99 + $3.77 = $7.76. Just need one or two more things for the $10 gift card, but out-of-pocket only $3.99.
The Crest toothpaste 4oz tubes was on sale $2/6 (or really, $3 each.) I could've gotten the sale with just two, but I had an extra coupon and really like a particular flavor. So with my $1 off each coupons, I got three bottles for $9 towards my goal, but only $6 out of pocket.
So total spending? Well I spent $35.82 as far as the P&G Rebate is concerned, but only $25.05 out of pocket. And then a $10 rebate--so basically, I bought a razor and got blades, toothpaste, deodorant, and body wash for free!
I also needed pig food--not on sale, and no one makes coupons for fresh lettuce--and picked up some Eggos. They were on sale $3/5 and I had a coupon for $1/2. I bought 2 packages, so only paid $1.16 each, or 12c per waffle. I think that's a fair price for feeding the kid breakfast. I hope he likes Eggos!
