How I Coupon

Hi! I'm glad you decided to visit my Couponing Blog. To make it as useful as possible, I'm going to tell you what I mean to achieve, and how I coupon. So, here goes.

Where I Coupon

I'm located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While I plan on moving to Lansing in the relatively near future, both cities have essentially the same stores with the same policies. You may not achieve identical results in all locations in a chain, or if you are couponing in an entirely different market (like Chicago or Miami.)

I coupon primarily at Meijer, Kroger, CVS, and Target. I also visit Rite-Aid, Walgreens, and a few local stores like Hillers and Busch's. Most of my savings come at these locations. If I find a great deal elsewhere, I'll post that as well, but don't expect to see that frequently.

Finding Coupons

All of my coupons come from newspaper inserts. I don't have the time or patience to search for online coupons or printables. However, I do frequent forums and participate in mail-in rebates. You get some of your best prices by combining coupons with rebates.

My Stockpile

I feed myself and a teenager. However, I also stockpile many other items to use as gifts for friends and family, and I love stockpiling free or nearly free items to donate to local food pantries and women's/teen shelters. I really encourage anyone to collect free items for the needy, especially if it's not a coupon you'd use for yourself. I enjoy stockpiling baby items to use for baby showers and the needy. I don't have a lot of money, but I do have enough spare time to make a difference this way.
